Reproduction of boot dagger of the German army type infanteriemesser 42, a boot knife of the heer.
Double-edged blade on half of the blade. Wood handle.
The name inf42 exist in two types: bowie blade or straight blade. The original handle was smooth wood but often reworked adding grooves to make it less slippery. The guard is a patch as on the original model.
It was common for German infantrymen to carry this kind of knife in the upper of their boot or on the chest of their tunic. This knife was made by many companies during the war, but the most expensive and most appreciated were the Puma knives.
The original sheath could or could not have a steel clip.
