Faithful reproduction of the short rifle used by Napoleon's dragoons.

A short rifle for mobile troops

The An IX Dragoon rifle differs from the 1777 model by its shorter barrel , measuring 1025 mm, making it more maneuverable both on horseback and on foot. This model was used by the Dragoons , a mounted infantry corps, as well as by the Voltigeurs under Napoleon I. It retained the .69 caliber, identical to the heavy infantry models.

Faithful historical construction

The flintlock mechanism operates using the spark-fire percussion system typical of the early 19th century. The brass fittings (trigger guard, butt plate, muzzle cap) resist corrosion, while the steel sling swivel reinforces the sling attachment point.

High-end finish for the reconstruction

The stock, crafted from premium walnut, is carefully oiled for a natural and robust finish. This fine wood ensures a comfortable and lasting grip. Despite its overall length of 1.41 m, the weight of 4.4 kg remains well-balanced thanks to a weight distribution designed for equestrian use.

Compatible ammunition

This rifle is designed to fire .675 round balls loaded with black powder. It is compatible with the USA 306-675 mold , the standard reference for .69 caliber projectiles intended for recreational shooting or reenactments.
