The Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife was created by captains William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes, officers in the Shanghai police and then in the British army. This knife is mainly known for its use by British and Commonwealth commandos during the Second World War. With the years it has undergone several modifications. It is still in production today and remains in service in the British special services.
